Dr India Kennedy
Chartered Clinical Psychologist
Dr India Kennedy is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who worked within the NHS for over 10 years in a variety of leading hospitals such as at The Royal Brompton and The Evelina Children’s Hospital at St Thomas’. She is now working exclusively in private practice, both online and from IPC’s Marlow clinic.
India has special interests in child and adolescent mental health, physical health and perinatal care, contributing to IPC’s Child and Adolescent, Adult Mental Health, Physical Health, Gender and Perinatal clinics. She is experienced in supporting young people and adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, such as anxiety, stress, trauma, identity development and depression.
In terms of physical health, India has supported clients with conditions such as cystic fibrosis, diabetes and children with a variety of critical and non-critical physical health problems. She is committed to helping people with the management of acute and chronic pain and physical health diagnoses. India also has a special interest in working within the field of perinatal and postnatal mental health, supporting parents to be or new parents with this transition. This may include helping parents with existing mental health problems or new challenges this big life event has brought.
India has a great deal of experience working within educational settings. She currently manages an in-house psychology service that IPC provides for a chain of independent schools.
India views her therapeutic work with clients as integrative, meaning that she draws on different therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic therapy, narrative therapy and mindfulness techniques in order to tailor the approaches she uses depending on each client’s individual needs.
