Dr Sophie Landa
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Sophie Landa is a Clinical Psychologist who works with clients of all ages. She has previously worked at the Tavistock Clinic, and in a neurodevelopment team in a London child and adolescent mental health service. Sophie has also been a supervisor and visiting lecturer at the Centre for Family Research at the University of Cambridge.
Sophie provides specialist input into IPC’s Child and Adolescent, Adult Mental Health, EMDR, Neurodiversity and Gender clinics. She is experienced at working therapeutically with children, adolescents and adults facing a range of emotional and mental health challenges including depression, anxiety (such as phobias, social anxiety and OCD) and low self-esteem. Sophie also has extensive experience supporting young people to explore and manage distress related to their gender. She has a particular interest in working with neurodiversity in young people and families. Receiving a diagnosis of autism or ADHD can have a huge impact on a person’s life at any age. Sophie is passionate about empowering people to use this information to make sense of their strengths and difficulties. She is attentive to differences in how autism and ADHD can present between boys and girls.
Sophie believes that building a warm, trusting and collaborative relationship with her clients is essential. She draws on evidence-based interventions such as CBT, ACT, EMDR and systemic approaches in a flexible way to support young people and families who are experiencing distress. Each person comes to therapy with different hopes for achieving a better quality of life. Sophie enjoys helping clients use their own strengths to identify then work towards their goals.
