Dr Shauna Mulllarkey
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Shauna Mullarkey is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who works across the age span with children, families and adults. Alongside her role with IPC, she also works in an Adult/Young Adult NHS Learning Disability Team, where she carries out comprehensive Cognitive and Neuropsychological assessments.
Prior to this, Shauna worked in child and family settings at the Anna Freud Centre, Great Ormond Street Hospital and in community outreach services.
One of Shauna’s main areas of expertise is supporting those with learning difficulties and learning disabilities. Shauna is experienced in carrying out cognitive assessments with children, teens and adults to determine a person’s cognitive and academic skills, including exploring attention, focus and executive functioning. Shauna works flexibly and creatively with the client, family and professional network to ensure assessments and intervention are a collaborative process, meaningful and inform positive change.
Shauna is trained in a number of psychological therapies, but predominantly uses Mentalisation based approaches and values a psychodynamic framework to inform her work. Shauna has completed further training AMBIT (Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment), Mentalization-Based Treatment for Children and Families (MBT-F; MBT-C), and Dialectical behaviour Therapy (DBT).
