Ruth Hind
Clinical Psychologist
Ruth Hind is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years’ experience working therapeutically with children, young people, adults, and families. She has worked across NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in both London and Manchester, supporting individuals with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, OCD, low mood, neurodiversity, attachment difficulties, relationship challenges, and stress.
Ruth’s clinical work focuses on helping people make sense of their experiences, strengthening their capacity to manage difficulties and build resilience. She works collaboratively with children, adults, and parents, supporting them to build confidence in their own understanding and ability to create change. Her approach draws on a range of therapeutic models, including cognitive behavioural and systemic approaches, adapted to the needs of each individual and family.
She has particular expertise in supporting relationships within families. Ruth is an advanced practitioner, supervisor and trainer in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG), a strengths-based intervention that enhances communication and connection by helping people reflect on and build on what is already working. She is also an accredited practitioner in the Circle of Security parenting programme, supporting parents to better understand their child’s emotional world and respond to their needs.
Alongside her clinical work, Ruth has contributed to training and service development at a national level. She has worked as a trainer in Family Partnership Training, supporting professionals in prevention and early intervention work, and has been involved in the supervision and consultation for the national roll-out of the Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) programme.
Ruth is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Association of Video Interaction Guidance (AVIG).
