
Dr Anna Galloway, BA (Hons), MSc, DClinPsy
Dr Anna Galloway is a Clinical Psychologist who is experienced in helping clients across the life span presenting with a range of different difficulties. She worked clinically within the NHS for over 10 years, specialising in working with those with physical and/or mental health issues in leading hospitals, including UCLH, The Royal Marsden and most recently Great Ormond Street Hospital. She is now working exclusively in private practice and is Clinical Manager for IPC.
Anna’s work draws on a range of therapeutic approaches, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Systemic, Narrative and Psychodynamic therapies. She takes a flexible and integrative approach in order to tailor assessments and interventions to the needs of the client.
She is experienced in working with individuals, couples and families.
Emotional and Mental Health
Over the years, Anna has developed extensive expertise in working therapeutically with children, young people and adults experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. This includes helping them with difficulties such as anxieties and phobias, stress, low mood, trauma, self-esteem issues, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, as well as the difficulties that younger children may often face, such as sleep, toileting, and behavioural issues.
Anna has a special interest in working with trauma and is skilled in utilising specialist trauma therapies such as EMDR.
Physical Health
Anna has experience of working across a number of physical health settings and within different specialities. Most recently she worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital primarily in cardiology, respiratory and critical care. Here she worked with parents, families and children in relation to challenges surrounding their health condition. Prior to this, she worked in oncology and haematology services at two leading hospitals, with adults, children and young people.
She is able to support children and adults with difficulties such as anxiety, distress related to medical procedures, low mood, treatment adherence and impacted quality of life. She has worked in general paediatrics with children experiencing a range of health difficulties, including those coping with pain and fatigue. She is also experienced in working with those who have a poor health prognosis and in bereavement work.
Anna is also experienced in working with women pre and post-natally, including those experiencing fertility challenges, complications in pregnancy and birth trauma.
