Brigid MacCarthy is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. Having worked within clinical psychology services for over 30 years, she has held senior roles in managing services and has worked with a wide age range of adults within the NHS and in academic research and teaching.
In her approach to assessment and intervention she draws on psychodynamic, narrative and cognitive behavioural approaches, using these approaches flexibly to meet the needs of her clients. She has a particular interest in working psychotherapeutically with cultural difference. She is a qualified Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) practitioner and is experienced working with trauma.
She has trained in executive coaching at Henley Business School and coaches individuals from a range of corporate and public service settings. She also trained as an organisational consultant at the Tavistock Clinic and has experience of consulting to teams facing crises and change within health and social care services.
